What ReportWalk does
ReportWalk is an iPhone and iPad app for people who inspect things for a living. You walk the site, take photos, talk and type where you need to, and the app turns what you captured into a report you can send.
A walk, in four steps
Everything in ReportWalk happens inside a walk: one visit to one site.
Start a walk. Pick a template — a ready-made inspection form — or choose Freestyle. Give the walk a name, and a client and an address if you like.
Capture. Take photos, tap the mic and talk about what you see, or type into any field. On a template walk, what you say fills the right fields and your photos file themselves into the right slots.
Finish. Tap Finish Walk. A short Before you leave check shows anything required you haven't captured yet.
Get the report. Tap Generate Report and choose a PDF or a web link. Open it and send it to your client.
Who it’s for
Anyone who walks a site and has to write it up afterwards: home inspectors, property managers, roofers, restoration and insurance work, HVAC and the trades, fire safety, health and safety, facilities teams, arborists and more.
The app comes with ready-made templates grouped by industry, and a library you can search for more. If your job has its own form, you can build it yourself or send it to us and we'll build it for you.
Two ways to work
- Template
A form split into sections — Roof, Kitchen, Electrical panel — with the questions and photos that section needs. The report prints your answers as you gave them, with a summary of anything you flagged.
- Freestyle
No form. You shoot and talk, and the app organizes it into a written report for you. Good for a one-off job where no form fits.
More on picking one: Choosing a template.
iPhone and iPad
ReportWalk is one app for both, from the App Store. Sign in with the same email on each and your walks follow you: the Walks list fills from your account.
It's built for the field. Everything you capture is saved on your phone or iPad first, so a basement with no signal doesn't stop you. It uploads when you're back in range. See Working with no signal.
The app and the free web forms
We also have free inspection forms on the web. You fill one in your browser and download a finished PDF — free, no account needed. They're a good way to try a form before you take it on site.
The app is where you do the walk itself: photos that file into the right section, talk to fill, working with no signal, every walk kept and searchable, and re-inspections. See Free web forms.
Starting free
Your first three walks are free, so you can try ReportWalk on real jobs. Settings shows your plan and how many walks you've used. Re-inspections — going back to check the repairs — don't count toward your walks (up to three per original walk).
When you need more, the plans and their prices are shown in the app before you pay. See Plans and limits.
Common questions
- Is there a password? No. You sign in with your email: we send a link and a code, and either one gets you in.
- Do I need a signal on site? No. You can start a walk, take photos, talk and type with no signal. Making the report needs a connection.
- Can I use my own form? Yes. Build it in the app, copy and change one of ours, or send us the form you use today and we'll build it for you, free.
- What does the report look like? A PDF or a web link you can send to your client. Freestyle walks can also make a Word file.
