Working with no signal
Basements, crawlspaces, rural lots — you can do a whole walk with no signal. Everything is saved on your phone first and uploads by itself when you're back in range.
What works with no signal
- Starting a walk with a built-in template, one you added from the library, or Freestyle.
- Photos, typing, marking items, and voice recordings.
- Come back to this, What did I miss?, and the Before you leave check.
- Your Walks list, search and archive.
- Comment shortcuts you say out loud.
How saving works
Every photo, answer and recording is written to your phone first. A queue then uploads it, in order, as soon as there's a connection. The app keeps trying while it's open and tries again whenever you come back to it. Nothing leaves the queue until our server confirms it has it.
While something is waiting, a strip at the top of the walk says so:

What waits for a connection
- Making the report. Reports are built on our server. Offline you'll see Needs a connection — everything you captured is still safe.
- Photos sorting themselves. They wait in the Unassigned tray. Place them by hand, or open the section again with signal.
- Voice filling fields. Your recording saves; the fields fill in when you're back on signal.
- Ask. Offline it does a plain search of what's on your phone instead.
- Adding a template from the library. Once added, it works offline.
- Address suggestions and the weather when you start a walk. You can still type the address yourself.
- Signing in, and starting a re-inspection.
Good habits
Before a job with no signal, add any library template you'll need while you're still on Wi-Fi.
After the job, open the app somewhere with signal and wait for Synced before you make the report.
Don't delete the app while anything says saved on this phone. Deleting an app deletes what's stored in it.

- What if the app closes before it uploads? Your work is already saved on the phone. It uploads next time you open the app with signal.
