Your first walk
Here's a whole walk, start to finish: starting it, capturing on site, finishing, and getting the report. Template walks and Freestyle walks differ in the middle, so both are covered.
Start the walk
Open the Walks tab and tap Start Walk at the bottom.
How do you want to work? Tap a template, or Freestyle at the bottom. Not sure? See Choosing a template.
On Walk Details, give the walk a name. Client and Address are optional — start typing the address and pick it from the list.
Tap Start Walk.
An address does a few useful things: the walk gets a pin on the Map tab, a button that opens directions in Maps, and the weather at the time you started, which template reports print as Conditions.
On a template walk
You'll see the template's sections as cards, each with its progress — 3/7 captured. Do them in any order.
Inside a section: the objective, the questions as chips, and the photos it needs.
Tap a section to open it.
Talk — tap the mic and describe what you see. Chips tick as they're heard. Tap again to stop. See Talk to fill.
Photograph — tap the camera button. Photos taken here file into this section and sort themselves into its photo slots. See Photos.
Type — tap any chip to type or pick an answer, then Save. Press and hold a chip to mark it Not Present, Not Inspected or Deficient ⚠.
Go back to the section list and carry on.
On a Freestyle walk
The camera opens. Take photos.
To say something about the photos you just took, tap the mic. On the Describe this photo screen, tap to talk, tap again to stop. Voice is optional.
Tap Save & Keep Shooting to carry on, or Finish Walk when you're done. On the camera, Done also takes you to the walk.
Finish and get the report
Template walk:
Tap Finish Walk. The Before you leave screen shows each section's state and anything required that's still missing. Tap an item to go and fix it. See Finishing a walk.
Tap Generate Report. Choose PDF or Web link and tap Generate. If you've saved a signature, Sign this report puts it on the final page (Signatures).
When it says Report ready, open it and send it on.
Freestyle walk:
On the walk's summary, tap Generate New Report and choose web report, PDF or Word.
On Review & Edit, tap any text to change it, then tap Generate Report.
Making the report needs a connection. Everything you captured is safe on your phone until then. See Reports.
