Choosing a template
Every walk starts with one question: how do you want to work? Pick a template — a form built for the job — or go Freestyle. Here's what's on that screen and how to choose.
The picker
Tap Start Walk on the Walks tab. The list runs in this order:
- Mine — templates you built or copied.
- Added from the library — templates you found in the library and added.
- Ready-made, by industry — built into the app. Tap an industry to open it: Home Inspection, Property Management, Roofing & Exterior, Construction, Fire Safety and more.
- Find another template — search the library.
- Freestyle — no template at all.
Look inside before you pick
Tap the small arrow on a template (not its name) to see What we'll capture: — every section, with how many fields it has. Tap the arrow again to close it. Tap the template's name to choose it.
On the next screen, Walk Details, your choice is shown at the top. Tap Change if you picked the wrong one.
Built in, added, or your own

Come with the app and work with no signal, always.
- From the library
Search, tap Add, and it's saved on your phone — it then works with no signal too. Adding one needs a connection, so add what you need before you head out. See The template library.
- Your own
Copy any template and change it, or build one from scratch. See Editing your templates.
When to choose Freestyle
Freestyle means shoot and talk — AI organizes the report. There are no sections or questions: you take photos, describe them out loud, and the app writes the report from what you captured. You can review and edit the text before it's made, and Freestyle can produce a Word file as well as a PDF or web link.
Choose a template when you do the same kind of job again and again, or your client expects a set format. Choose Freestyle for one-off jobs where no form fits.
Adapting a template on the walk
Each walk keeps its own copy of the template as it was when you started, so the template changing later never changes a walk in progress. That copy is yours to bend:
- Add a section — Add a section for this walk, below the section list.
- Skip a section — press and hold it, then Turn off — doesn't apply here. It won't appear in the report.
- Add a question — ＋ field among a section's chips.
