Making a report
When the walk is done, the report is a few taps away. Here is how it works for template walks and freestyle walks, what the PDF and the web link are, how to send them, and what to do when you want to change something and make it again.
From a template walk
Open the walk. At the bottom of its sections, tap Finish Walk.
The Before you leave screen checks for anything required that you haven't captured yet. When it's all there it says You're covered. Tap Keep walking to go back, or Generate Report.
Pick a format — PDF or Web link — and set the switches you want (see Report options).
Tap Generate. A progress bar shows each step as it happens.
When it says Report ready, tap Open PDF or Open Web Report.
“Sign this report” only appears once you've saved a signature.
From a freestyle walk
Open the walk's summary and tap Generate New Report. If photos are still being processed, the button waits until they're done.
Choose View Web Report, Generate PDF or Generate Word (DOCX).
On Review & Edit, tap any note to fix the wording, tap the trash icon to drop one, or tap Add Observation to add a photo you missed.
Tap Generate Report. When you see Report Ready!, tap View PDF Report (or Download Word Doc). Edit / Add More takes you back to the walk.
Reports you've already made for a freestyle walk are listed on its summary under Available Reports.
PDF or web link
A PDF is a file: it looks the same everywhere and prints well. Your logo, company and contact details go on the cover.
A web link is a page your client opens in any browser, on a phone or a computer. They don't need an account or the app. Anyone you send the link to can open it, so send it only to the people the report is for.
For a template walk, the web link always shows the walk as it is now. If you fix an answer after sending it, the page shows the fix once your change has synced and the page is reloaded (allow a minute or two) — no need to send a new link.
Sending it
When the report opens, use the iPhone Share button (the square with the arrow) to send it by Mail or Messages, AirDrop it, or save it to Files. For a web link, sharing sends the link itself.
How long it takes
A template report is laid out from exactly what you captured, and the screen shows each step — Reading the walk…, Laying out the report…, Uploading…. A long walk with lots of photos takes longer than a short one.
A freestyle report is written for you from your notes and voice, so it takes a little longer. The app says it may take up to a minute.
Making a report needs a connection. If you're offline, the app tells you, and everything you captured stays safe on your iPhone or iPad until you have signal.
Changing it and making it again
- Fix, then generate again. Open the walk, change what you need, and go through Generate Report again. Each new PDF is a new file, so send the newest one.
- No limit on remaking a report. Make it as many times as you need, on template and Freestyle walks alike. Making a report again never uses another walk.
- Freestyle walks: after editing on Review & Edit, Update Web Report rewrites the web report's text with your changes.
