Finishing a walk
Before you drive away, one screen tells you whether you've got everything. It never stops you finishing — it just makes sure nothing's missed.
Before you leave
On a template walk, tap Finish Walk at the bottom of the section list. The Before you leave screen lists every section with its state:
Tap a section to jump into it.
Things that may need your attention
Below the sections, up to five items you can tap to go straight to the fix:
- Required items not captured — “Roof covering not captured”, “No photo of electrical panel”.
- Answers that don't add up — some templates check one answer against another, and say so here.
- Notes without photos — with a connection, the app checks what you said against the photos you took (Checking your notes against your photos…) and points out anything you described but didn't photograph.
What counts as covered
A template marks some fields as required. Photo fields show a *. A required field is covered when it has an answer or a photo — or when you've marked it:
- One item — press and hold its chip, then Not Present, Not Inspected or Deficient ⚠.
- A whole section — inside it, tap Not present, then Mark Not Present. The report says so.
Questions that only appear after a certain answer don't count against you if they never appeared.
Check as you go: inside any section, tap What did I miss? for a quick summary of what's covered and what's still open. It works with no signal.
Parked items
Can't get to something yet — the attic's locked, the owner has the key? In the section, tap Come back to this and add a note if you like.
The section list shows You parked 2 things to revisit. On Before you leave, each parked item is listed: tap it to go back, or tap Done once it's sorted.
You're covered
When nothing required is missing, nothing needs attention and nothing is parked, the screen says:
Everything required is captured. You're covered.
Then tap Generate Report. Or tap Keep walking to go back. You can generate the report even if you're not covered — it's your call.
Keep your changes to the template
If you added a section, turned one off or added a field during the walk, you'll see You adapted this template on the walk. Keep the changes for next time:
- Save as my template — for a built-in template: saves your version as a new template of your own.
- Update my template or Save as new — for one of your own.
This walk keeps its changes either way.
