The Ask tab

Your past walks, searchable the way you remember them. Ask a question in plain words and get a short answer, with the walks it came from right underneath.

1

Ask a question

  1. Tap Ask at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Type into Ask about any walk…, or tap one of the suggestions to try it.

  3. Read the answer. Below it are cards for the walks it came from — tap one to open that walk.

Ask the way you'd remember it: “the place where the gutter was separating.”

2

What it looks through

Your own walks only: your typed notes, your voice notes once they're transcribed, and the answers you gave in template walks. Things you've captured are searchable once they've synced.

Answers are short — a few sentences — and every card is a walk the answer actually drew on. If nothing you've captured answers the question, it says so plainly rather than guessing.

Things to try

  • Where did I mention moisture?
  • Which walk had the oldest water heater?
  • Show me everything marked deficient
4

With no connection

Ask needs a connection to answer. Without one, it does a plain word search of the walks on your iPhone or iPad instead — titles, clients, addresses and notes — and shows up to five matches, with a small no-signal icon so you know which kind of answer you got.
