Roof Inspection Report — No Typing on the Roof
Write the roof inspection report by voice, standing on the roof: say what you see and the roof inspection checklist fills itself in.
What you’ll see
- The roof inspection template has six sections, from roof overview to assessment and recommendation. Covering type, layers, estimated age, surface condition, granule loss and lifted tabs fill in as you talk.
- Step flashing and pipe boots, gutters, drip edge, ventilation and decking from the attic. Photos file themselves into the right section, and the volume button takes the picture so one hand stays on the roof.
- Say your assessment: overall condition, recommendation and remaining life. Climb down and the roof inspection report is ready, with your logo, photos and a deficiency summary up front.
Transcript
The roof is the worst office anybody ever designed. No desk. Wind. Gravity actively involved.
So don’t type up there. Open the roof inspection template in ReportWalk. Six sections, from overview to recommendation.
Tap once. Look around. Talk.
“Architectural shingles, one layer, about twelve years. Granule loss on the south slope. Two lifted tabs by the ridge.”
Covering type, layers, estimated age: filled. Surface condition: poor. Damage written up.
“Step flashing pulled away at the dormer. Pipe boot cracked.”
Flashing and penetrations: done.
Take the photos as you go. Slope overview. Surface close-up. Flashing detail. They file themselves into the report.
The volume button takes the picture, because apparently holding a phone with two hands on a roof was an idea we were all just accepting.
Gutters, drip edge, ventilation. Then decking from the attic below.
Last, your assessment. Overall condition, recommendation, remaining life. Say it. It’s in.
Climb down, and the roof inspection report is already there. Your logo, your photos, deficiency summary up front.
The ladder still works exactly like a ladder.
We’re a software company.
