App updates
Most ReportWalk updates arrive by themselves, without a trip to the App Store. Here is what you'll see and how to tell which version you have.
The “new version is ready” banner
ReportWalk checks for updates when you open it and when you come back to it. It downloads them quietly in the background. When one is ready, a banner appears at the top of the screen:
- Reload restarts the app straight into the new version. It takes a moment. Finish any voice note you're recording first.
- Later hides the banner. The update waits in Settings as A new version of ReportWalk is ready — tap to install. It also installs itself the next time the app fully restarts.
Which version do I have?
Scroll to the bottom of Settings. You'll see a line like Version 2.1.1 · update 37. The first number is the App Store version; the update number goes up with each update that arrives by itself.
If you ask us for help, include that line. It tells us exactly what you're running.
Bigger updates come from the App Store
Some changes need a new version from the App Store — usually when the app starts using something new on your phone. Update ReportWalk in the App Store like any other app. To have it happen automatically, turn on automatic app updates in the iPhone Settings app, under App Store.
If a library template says it needs a newer version of the app, an update is what it's asking for.
